David Bentley Hart, USAs f.n. mest prominenta teolog av östortodoxt snitt, diskuterar den frågan
eftersom han blivit anklagad för att ha avpersonifierat Gud, vilket han ivrigt förnekar.
Mitt förtroende för DBH har vuxit och om den östortodoxa kyrkan inte hade så erbarmligt dödstråkiga gudstjänster vore det inte långt ifrån att jag skulle kunna tänkas konvertera; dom har ju bevarat de första församlingarnas syn på livet efter detta; tron på omfattningen av Jesu' försoning, förtroendet för Guds förmåga att fullfölja sin plan för sin egen skapelse - att helt upprätta den.
(Varifrån kommer lusten att ägna sig åt gudstjänster i förfärliga förfrämligande former som inte har någon attraktion på människor med kreativa och livsbejakande uttryck? Inte är det från Gud i vilket fall!?)
För att återgå till frågan; Gud är fullkomligt feminin (!) och maximalt maskulin, i samma person eftersom Han "...skapade människan till sin avbild, till man och kvinna skapade Han henne." Vi är uppdelade och Han är hel och helig.
Hans kreativitet är oöverträffad och människan reflekterar i förbluffande former, inte minst inom musiken.
Här ett litet exempel:
Livslång kärlek kommer alltid tillbaka som tema, läs Höga Visan där Gud beskrivs som den relationslystne/kärlekskranke ynglingen och människan som den åtråvärda kvinnan. Denne unge man har inte ens en avlägsen tanke på att nån gång i framtiden lämna flickan om han händelsevis skulle "växa ifrån henne". Hon är den enda och han vill ha henne och aldrig någonsin kan han tänka sig att leva utan henne. Sån är även Gud och Han är den himmelska förebilden för mänsklig samvaro på alla plan och bl.a. detta visar att Han är den ultimata personen.
Detta förhindrar inte att Han är alltings mått/centrum/början och då med Jesu' ansikte som "logo". Läs några verser i början av Johannes evangelium, världens väsentligaste språkfilosofi!
Man får erkänna att hjässlocket glappar vid närmare och djupare eftertanke, man får tagga ner och erkänna att här närmar man sig gränsen mellan världen och det immanenta/extraterrestriala.
(Intressant är f.ö. att Jesus blev avrättad på en kulle som kallades för Huvudskalleplatsen.)
PS Gud nämns inte alls i Höga Visan vad jag vet och ändå finns boken där i Bibelns bibliotek. DS

My trust in DBH has grown and if the Eastern Orthodox Church didn't have such pitifully deathly services, it wouldn't be far from me thinking of converting; they have preserved the first churches' view of the afterlife; faith in the extent of Jesus' atonement, confidence in God's ability to carry out His plan for His own creation - to completely establish it.
(Where does the desire come from to engage in worship in horribly alienating forms that have no attraction for people with creative and life-affirming expressions? It's not from God anyway!?)

To return to the question; God is perfectly feminine (!) and maximally masculine, in the same person because He "...created man in his own image, male and female created he him." We are divided and He is whole and holy.
His creativity is unparalleled and man reflects in astonishing ways, not least in music.

Lifelong love always comes back as a theme, read the High Vision where God is described as the relationship-hungry/loveless youth and man as the desirable woman. This young man does not even have a distant thought of leaving the girl at some point in the future if he happens to "grow away from her". She is the only one and he wants her and he can never imagine living without her. So is God, and He is the heavenly model for human coexistence on all levels and i.a. this shows that He is the ultimate person.
This does not prevent that He is the measure/center/beginning of everything and then with Jesus' face as "logo". Read a few verses at the beginning of the Gospel of John, the world's most essential philosophy of language!
You have to admit that the top of your head loosens on closer and deeper reflection, you have to slow down and admit that here you are approaching the border between the world and the immanent/extraterrestrial.
(It is interesting that Jesus was executed on a hill called the Skull Place.)
PS God is not mentioned at all in the High Vision as far as I know and yet the book is there in the Bible's library. DS
